About the Climate Hub

Teignbridge District Council called a climate emergency for the district in April 2019 and since then we’ve played a leading role in tackling climate change working alongside our partners to reduce the district’s Carbon Footprint.

Our Vision

The Teignbridge Climate Hub is Teignbridge Council’s Carbon Action Plan for the district. This hub aims to help residents and businesses take steps to reduce their carbon footprint.

Teignbridge Climate Hub is more than just a website.

Rather than having a large document that requires a lot of reading, we want this plan to be simple to understand and interactive; something Teignbridge residents and businesses feel involved in and want to support and adopt.

The plan covers six areas which originate from the Devon Carbon Plan:

  • Food, Land and Sea

  • Transport

  • Economy and Resources

  • Energy Supply

  • Built Environment

  • Cross-Cutting Themes

Each section has some tips and suggestions for things you can do to reduce your household bills, support local food producers and, of course, reduce your carbon footprint.

You can view the plan on the Teignbridge District Council website

Action for Teignbridge District Council

Since declaring the Environment and Climate Emergency, Teignbridge Council has taken steps to save energy and reduce carbon across our buildings, vehicle fleet and supply chain.

We measure our Local Authority carbon footprint annually to help us identify carbon hotspots and we’re continually taking action to help reduce our carbon footprint.
